Mold on Windows and Frames Indicates a Moisture Problem<\/h2>\n

Mold always indicates moisture. One cannot exist without the other. Molds only need two things to survive: a substrate with minerals, such as plasterwork, and moisture. <\/strong><\/p>\n

However, the substrate can also be wood. That’s why furniture or window frames can also be affected by mold. Windows are even more susceptible to mold. The cold surface temperature of the glass causes water vapor to condense on the window. These droplets fall down and come into contact with the wooden frames. These are ideal conditions for mold formation. <\/p>\n

Mold occurs mainly in damp spaces where there is a lot of water vapor in the air. This includes, for example, the bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room. How Do We Combat Mold on Windows and Frames?<\/h2>\n

In almost all cases, it’s condensation. The solution is then simple: ventilation. But even better is to install a mechanical ventilation system. If the mold on the windows and frames, which is rather unlikely, is caused by rising damp<\/a>? Then we will perform wall injections. We drill holes in the damp wall that we fill with a moisture-repellent agent. Once hardened, the moisture can no longer rise in the wall. <\/p>\n

Possibly, mold on windows and frames is due to penetrating damp. The moisture then comes from outside, through a crack in the facade or through a gap between the window frames and the facade bricks. <\/p>\n

In this case too, moisture comes into direct contact with the frames and mold can develop. In that case, the facade must be repaired.
