An older house without a cavity wall<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1305\">Houses <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1200\">built before 1908<\/strong> are also at risk for rising damp.<br data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1249\">Many older houses <strong data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1302\">lack cavity walls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1505\">A cavity wall consists of <strong data-start=\"1333\" data-end=\"1375\">two walls with an air space between them<\/strong>. Fortunately, there are various methods to <strong data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"664\">permanently<\/strong> solve rising damp.
